The detail

Surface
The letters stand six tenths of a millimetre proud, about as high as a Braille dot: enough to find them without looking, little enough never to catch on anything.
Material
Carbon-fibre filament, the kind used for engineering parts. It takes the heat of a car in August, the cold, the knocks and the years.
The clasp
The pouch doesn’t slide in: it attaches with magnets. It closes with a clean click: you feel it before you look.

The project

Morgana, Molly and Io

Morgana and Molly are my cats, and they were in the name before there was a brand. My partner designs machines that fit together to a tenth of a millimetre, and he drew the clasps. My mum is a seamstress and stitches every pouch by hand, one at a time.
